Atz Kilcher is the star of the Discovery Channel television series, Alaska: The Last Frontier, and the father of singer/songwriter Jewel. He and his family are the definition of pioneers and frontiersmen, living a minimalist agriculture-oriented life that very few of us could maintain in the 21st century. The Kilchers are not steeped in modern technology like much of the rest of us. Outlets like social media were about as useful to them as fire in an igloo. Per request of the family, Purpl. was asked to manage Atz, and establish a modern and attainable platform for him. We started by reaffirming his branding, which believe us, is cut and dry. We designed a website suitable to his nature (which has since been altered) and laid the foundation for his digital presence. We formulated everything from strategy, branding, social media presence, and beyond. We brokered relationships with photographers to capture badass pictures of Atz in the thick of his environment to then share on social media and post on his site. We continued to introduce brand partnerships, broker deals with media companies, and so forth. From his jewelry line, to salmon jerky, to all of his artisan crafts, we made sure to establish these sale avenues as a focal point in his branding aside from his show. We aided on the ideation to further revenue by selling certain handmade crafts he might not necessarily thought to have sold. We established a broader (and completely necessary) platform for him to expand his fan base and sales, and succeeded. We’re still in contact from time to time with Atz, and if he seeks future help, we’ve agreed to be compensated with his famed salmon jerky.
